Inbreeding Rednecks: Corpse molesters

One of the things that I hate about modern death metal, is the trend to make everything sound alike. The guitar sound is almost the same on every record that one picks. The drum sound is the same. The bass sound –when one doesn’t have to dig through 437 miles of shit and garbage- is the same. The vocals are the same. WHADDAFUCK IS GOING ON? IS IT THE INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, OR SUMTHIN’????
With the above in mind, I have to say that it’s becoming difficulter and difficulter for me to discern one band from the other and that only bands that clearly move away from this trend make any kind of impact to me. Unfortunately, Inbreeding Rednecks do not belong to the category of death metal bands that really stand out. They’re an okay band, actually, but, they don’t seem to want to chance the norm, but to fall squarely into its dictums.
So, within this 19+ minutes EP we get ourselves your usual downtuned guitar sound, peppered here and there with some higher pitched work, we get your compressed drums, we get your gurgly death growl, interspersed with some screaming, we get your 783 different parts in each song, we get your speedy parts and your more slow parts and your groovy parts,…you know, the works. I suppose that anyone here at GD, more savvy than me in death metal, might be able to even discern the band’s influences and make comparisons with other peer bands.
Look, I’m not saying that this is shit; I’m saying, though, that this is as “pedestrian” as it gets. To make a long story short, if you like death metal that sounds like a lot of other bands of the genre, you might find something of interest in the work of these Danes. Me, I’m outta here, real fast.
